I am a bridge builder. Throughout my career I have innovatively brought people together in ways that promote healing and a more just and sustainable world. I am founder and board member emeritus of the Integrative Medicine Alliance, a nonprofit network that builds bridges between conventional and alternative healthcare in New England. I have learned the ins and outs of America's whole health sector as no one else has. My personal network of hundreds of colleagues is unparalleled. Over the years, I have worked in the fields of integrative healthcare, community development, education, international security, and the environment. My employers have included the Watson Institute for International Studies, Saferworld, Choices for Bristol, and the UN Earth Summit. I am a 1986 cum laude graduate of Brown University. therapy at
Harvard University Health Services and at my
private practice in
Providence, Rhode Island, which is where I live with my wife Annie Gjelsvik,
my daughter Astrid and my son Leif.
